    When did your R.E.M. story begin (year, age or life stage), and where were you living?
  2. Describe one specific moment.
    Not a general period — a scene. Where were you? What was happening?
  3. What object or artifact do you associate with this chapter?
    (A tape, a dorm room, a car, a letter, a concert ticket, a person, etc.)
  4. Who else was part of this story?
    How did R.E.M. shape — or reflect — that relationship?
  5. Looking back now, what did R.E.M. represent in your life at that time?

    I.e., record your story (8 minutes max, please)

    Either way, AI will transcribe your voice file. We will then lightly edit it for clarity and send it back to you for approval.

    Voice submission sidesteps a major hurdle for many people. Even so, there’s often a feeling of “Where should I start?” Don’t worry; start here:

    What is the moment you first realized that R.E.M. really mattered to you?

    Start your recording by describing that moment:
    Where were you? How old were you? Who were you with?

    • How your relationship with the band evolved
