Late Night With David Letterman

Far be it from us to tell anyone what their R.E.M. Story should be.  That said, we do look forward to hearing from the first person to tell us, “I’d never heard of R.E.M., but I saw their first appearance on Letterman and it blew my mind…”

Also, this is an excuse to share a really lovely 9-minute clip.  Remember when bands got to play TWO songs?  Remember when the Letterman set looked like something out of The Monkees? Remember when the lads were so thin?
